ABOUT US
Pilates Encounter is a small, family run Pilates studio owned by husband and wife, Matthew and Jayne Atwell.
In this duo, Matthew is the Pilates teacher, and we work together on all aspects relating to the studio’s day to day running.
We offer a variety of Pilates classes which take place in our fully equipped Pilates studio in the heart of Chepstow in South Wales.

We enjoy providing Pilates classes for people from all parts of Monmouthshire and the surrounding areas, including the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean.

Having relocated to the area after 5 years of running a vibrant Pilates studio in London, we love sharing our experience with Chepstow, and look forward to supporting your Pilates Encounter with us.

WHAT WE OFFER
Whilst incorporating Pilates mat repertoire, we specialise in teaching Pilates apparatus classes using unique pieces of equipment invented in the early 1900's by the Method's founder, Joseph Pilates.

This special apparatus uses springs to create resistance, allowing the user to achieve highly targeted results in less time.
Spring resistance allows an exercise to become more supportive, or more challenging, making sessions equally good for people of any age and fitness level; including those with rehabilitation needs, age related concerns, athletic cross training, pregnancy, occupational health issues and much more.

Our Pilates studio houses a Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector and Wall Tower - alongside many other smaller items which include Magic Circles, stretchy bands, foam rollers and small weights.
